During the fall, our social studies students entered a local essay contest through the Fleet Reserve Association out of Gassville. The essay topic was "Why I Am Proud to be an American." The contest was open for all students, grades 7-12. Each of the 7th grade SS teachers at Pinkston narrowed down their top 5 from each class. We had two 7th graders who won the essay contest!! Isabelle K. placed 2nd and MacKenzie P. placed 3rd!
