We love when our little kids partner with big kids! Kindergartners drew pictures showing what they want to be when they grow up and shared them with Mrs. Corales' 6th grade Honors Class. The Pinkston students wrote letters about those jobs and sent them back to the kindergarten. Kindergartners in Mrs. Pitchford's class were treated with the "BIG KIDS" reading to them about different job opportunities. Career-connected learning at its finest!
We celebrated Red Ribbon Week 2022 at Pinkston Middle School a couple weeks ago! Our finale included a presentation on the dangers of vaping by Registered Respiratory Therapist Shelby Chapman and our amazing SRO, Danielle Campfield along with K9 Officer Rocky, presented on the dangers and legalities of alcohol and drugs. Thank you, Officer Campfield, for all the “Cycle Breakers” you recruited at this event! What a powerful way to make a difference in the lives of our students. The students also watched an intense video on the dangers of fentanyl. Eye opening! We love our students! Celebrating Life Drug Free💙💛

Some children need help walking, talking, seeing, hearing, or learning. Child

**Access to federal funds for families in Arkansas with the Child Tax Credit**
Families with no income or low income could get at least $3,000 per child with the Child Tax Credit, plus $1400 with the third stimulus payment - even if they have never filed taxes before (and if they have not yet already filed taxes this year).
There is now an easy form for people to file on their mobile devices in 15 minutes or less in English or Spanish. People have until November 15 to sign up this year at GetCTC.org/arschools.

Students from Mrs. Corales' 6th grade Honors class are helping Kindergarten library students learn how to use shelf markers. This is the beginning of a Pathways collaboration project between Pinkston and Mountain Home Kindergarten.
Pinkston counselors treated their amazing staff to a Popcorn Bar. It was a real treat with all the toppings -- including chocolate!

Return to school after a positive COVID test will be the same as other illnesses at this time. Children need to be fever-free for 24 hours without taking a fever reducer. Please follow doctor's recommendations. When they return to school, please send doctor and/or parent notes. Here at Pinkston, we accept up to 6 parent notes that we excuse for student attendance. Hey Everyone! Just a friendly reminder that we no longer take transportation change requests after 2:45pm everyday. We have a busy afternoon routine and for the safety of our students and getting them in the right spot it is easier to have a cut off time to allow us to direct them to the right location in the afternoons.
