FFA chicken boxes will be picked up next week due to weaether issues.
Bomber Families, We have been closely following the radar and collecting updates from the National Weather Service regarding the impending winter storm. Our county is officially under a winter storm warning. Now that we have a clearer picture of what the next couple of days will look like, I wanted to share our plan with you. We will release students from school at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, and there will be no school on Friday, January 10. I know a 1:30 p.m. closure is inconvenient for some, but my top concern is ensuring our kids and staff get home safely, and this early release should allow for that. As you know, these types of storms are ever-changing, and so there is still a possibility we will have to adjust the early release time. If we need to make changes to this plan, I will let you know as soon as that decision is made. For now, If you have alternate plans for your young children on early release days, please make sure their teachers are aware so that adjustments can be made tomorrow. Remember that when we release early, our Flight Crew program is not open, so please make your children's teachers aware of how they will be getting home. Thank you for your continued patience and support. If things change, I will reach out to you all through the normal channels, but I am hopeful that this plan allows us as much instructional time as possible while also ensuring enough time is allowed for safe travel. inclement weather announcement
Inclement weather reminders: 1. If we must cancel or delay school, we will do our best to do it the night before, but that is not always possible. 2. If a decision is made to cancel school for any reason, we will notify you through a phone call, text message, and a social media post. We will also notify local media. 3. You will never need to rely on rumors or social media speculation with regards to school closures/delays. We let our families know AS SOON AS the decision is made. 4. Snow routes might need to be used at some point for our students who ride buses. Those routes are available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fRlENdg-GdHjW5P6520tVWk8hoLnazsr

The Mountain Home Public Schools food service department received a substantial donation this holiday season from FOP Lodge #45. This money was used to pay off multiple students' meal balances. We are so thankful for local groups that are always thinking of our students!

Thanks to First Security Bank for this month's MHJH Leadership Award! Bentley Lemons was this month's recipient, and here's a brief summary of why she was nominated! Good afternoon! Please see the photo below for our First Security Bank Leadership award winner for November. Here is a small summary of why she was nominated! Bentley Lemons is a leader in and out of the classroom. She is involved in many extracurricular activities including dance, student council, flight crew, and many others. She is responsible, goal oriented, organized, and works well with her peers. One specific event I noticed her leadership skills was during Homecoming week. She led both Student Council and Flight Crew in decorating the Freshman Class Float including making decisions about theme and decor and helping organize who would do what on each night of decorating. Bentley is an exceptional student and works hard at everything does.
