Bomber Families, After talking with the National Weather Service a few moments ago, our forecast is increasing in severity. I am concerned about the dangerous weather conditions as well as potential flooding if we wait to dismiss at our regularly-scheduled time. With that in mind, Mountain Home Public Schools will release at 12:45 today. I encourage you all to use a high level of caution for the remainder of the afternoon and evening, as conditions look to be severe. Note: Flight Crew will be cancelled as well. Today is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! We could not have school without our paraprofessionals! They are the very best and are a critical piece of daily school life. They assist in providing meaningful interventions, teach essential skills, support academic learning, provide safe environments by supervising students, and so much more! We always hope they feel valued and appreciated! We asked some staff members to describe our paraprofessionals, and here are some of the responses we received: positive, magnetic, support development of essential skills, natural leaders, love a challenge, empathetic, tender-hearted, help to close achievement gaps, compassionate, smart, loyal, faithful, patient, gentle, gracious, ray of sunshine, encourage risk taking in learning. The work of the professional is ongoing, and we couldn’t do it without them! Thank you!

Earlier this week, Chancellor Robinson from the University of Arkansas was on campus during RTI. He and his team visited with Juniors and Seniors about the UofA system and opportunities they have for students as well as other information about going to college. Big thanks to this team for taking time to visit our kids as they explore college options!

Mountain Home Parks & Rec has some fantastic opportunities coming up!

Our Outdoor Learning courses received a generous donation of $12,700 from the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission on Saturday night at the organization's Night of Conservation in Mountain Home. Thank you so much to the Commission for your continued support of our programming and our kids! Only two weeks left to sign up! MHHS College and Military Signing Day is Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from  9:30-10:30 a.m. in the main gym. This event is geared toward students who are attending college or a trade/technical school after high school, or are enlisting in the military. If your senior wants to participate in College and Military Signing Day, he/she must complete the sign-up Google form posted on Canvas Class of 2025 by no later than Monday, April 14. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made. This is simply a fun, informal college, technical/trade, and military signing ceremony.   Family members, college reps, and recruiters will be invited to attend!  All grades will be in attendance to watch. We are also drawing for the two $250 ACAC Grand Prize Shopping Sprees at this event. If a student attaches proof of his/her college acceptance on their sign-up form, he/she will earn an additional 2 raffle tickets for the grand prize drawing. Reminder for Families: On March 20, our Board of Education approved a calendar amendment that made May 23 a full day of school. This adjustment was made to add back a few hours to our calendar due to an early dismissal in January. Last week, two groups of sophomores stopped by NWH to earn some community service hours. The students helped sort through games and materials in the old Parent Center to help make room for a new STEM/Makerspace Lab. Miss Rayburn, the K-2 GATE teacher, cannot say enough how thankful she is for the great work done in only two hours by these hardworking students! Thanks for giving back to our little Bombers!

Check this out! Zane finished first and Finley finished third in the individual testing for the AR Personal Finance Challenge! Now the team will represent Arkansas in Atlanta in June. Way to go, kids! And big thanks to their sponsor, Mr. Caststeel!

Academy Reps came to Pinkston and presented on the different academies at the high school, explained the career options in each, and presented on the organizations students can join. As always, Pinkston students enjoyed getting to meet the reps and appreciated all the information they presented.
