This week our 7th grade science students have been exploring gravity, Apollo 11, and the Moon to support literacy learning in preparation for American Graffiti Day and its 1960s theme. Yesterday they conducted a hands-on activity simulating lunar craters using rocks and flour. It was a messy but fantastic and engaging learning experience!

These businesses have graciously partnered with Pinkston Middle School by donating gift certificates to encourage and thank teachers/staff for connecting with students and for creating a safe and welcoming school climate. Employees earn entries into a prize drawing each month in several ways, including implementing simple and practical activities that focus on different aspects of kindness and connection each week, student input, and being caught by a counselor. At the end of each month we have a prize drawing, and because of these supportive businesses, we are able to give away gift certificates to seven teachers/staff members a month!
