Procedures To Utilize Counselor Services

Individuals

Any student, teacher, or parent may make a referral to the counselor.  Parents can make referrals over the phone or in a sealed envelop to the counselor.

Small Group

A student, teacher, or parent may request a small group counseling session for a student.  The counselor may call for a specific topic based on need.  Parents will be consulted prior to the beginning of any small group to which their child has been referred.

Large Group

The school counselors will present lessons to classes or a team of students during the school year based on requests and need.

Other Duties

Scheduling; Informational parent meetings; Coordinating standardized testing; program coordination (Red Ribbon Week, Parent Lending Library, Ambassador Program, etc.); working with other referral agencies; observations of students in classroom settings; attending counseling training workshops; and other duties as assigned.
